Jayallwend Kittens.

Over and above being simply gorgeous, Jayallwend kittens are renowned for their temperament. Each kitten has its own special personality, but we have found they each carry loyal, mischievous, and fun characteristics that make them a great addition to any family.

Jayallwend produces PEDIGREE Siamese and Oriental Ebony kittens, registered with the New Zealand Cat Fancy. The integrity of the Jayallwend kitten is paramount and every care is taken to provide happy and healthy kittens - that is our most important goal.

Our biggest struggle with breeding such adorable kittens is that it just makes it that much harder to part with them! If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.

FAQs

  • These are PEDIGREE Siamese & Oriental kittens, registered with the New Zealand Cat Fancy (www.nzcatfancy.gen.nz). They are different from purebred cats bred by backyard breeders in that their lineage can be traced and the breeders themselves must be registered and have codes to follow.

  • All our kittens come:

    • Desexed (speyed/neutered)

    • Microchipped

    • Registered on the NZCAR in your name (New Zealand Companion Animal Register (www.animalregister.co.nz).)

    • Wormed

    • Flea treated

    • 2 x Vaccinations

    • 3x vet checks (2 at vaccinations, 1 at surgery)

    • Registered with the NZCF (New Zealand Cat Fancy)

    • Transferred into your name with the NZCF

    • 4 generation Pedigree (which shows their ancestors back to great, great grandparents)

    • 6 weeks free pet insurance with Pet Plan

    • Jayallwend's information book with everything you need to know for your new kitten

    • Our special kitten pack

    • Lifetime breeder support, we are always available for questions at any stage during the kittens life.

  • Our kittens are $1,500 each and we require a $750 deposit once we confirm a kitten is available for you. This aids us in paying for food, vets bills, registration, microchips etc until your kitten is ready to join you in your new home.

  • We can and do send kittens throughout the country, having homed our kittens in Christchurch, Dunedin, Wellington & up to Auckland with many repeating the experience to add to their new cat family.

  • Our kittens are ready for their new homes around 12 weeks of age, once we are happy with their health and progress. This sometimes varies from kitten to kitten so some go earlier than others.

  • We are based in the Manawatū. If you live locally, we are also able to board your kitten when you go on holiday.

  • HCM is becoming progressively more well-known and common in the oriental/siamese breeding world. We have been in touch with the most prominent researcher in the US (Leslie Lyons) and advised for this breed type there is only one confirmed test - ultrasound. An ultrasound is $400-$500 per animal. Its my understanding the problem with HCM in Siamese/Orientals is that it cannot be definitively ruled out - even if an ultrasound is completed it is an indication that the cat does not have HCM AT THAT POINT IN TIME. It does not mean they will never develop it. Current recommendations are to complete an ultrasound prior to breeding, and again every couple of years.

We have not yet completed any ultrasounds, primarily because we have had no reason to suspect it in our breeding lines. We have 5 generations of our line in our cattery, we have had no issues with our own cats, nor any reported to us from kittens we have sold.

We encourage all new (and existing!) parents of our kittens to get in touch with us should anything arise, and allow us to talk to your vet. This enables us to provide parentage and genetic history to assist with the kitten's health, and also makes us aware if there is something we should test our own cats for.

Every care is taken to provide happy and healthy kittens - and that is our most important goal.

  • All our breeding cats have been tested and are cleared for the following hereditary diseases well known in Siamese and Orientals:

    • Pyruvate Kinase (PK) Deficiency

    • Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA - CEP 290)
